The National Childbirth Trust are the leading charity for pregnancy, birth and parenting in the UK. Freecycle
Freecycle is a great way of recycling through an international voluntary organisation that promotes the re-use of  unwanted items. Instead of throwing something away (where it could end up in a landfill site) you simply advertise it on your local Freecycle site and would-be takers contact you by email.  Then you can either give it to them or exchange it for something you want.
